Description
Return zoneGaps=assigned-reference and mismatches as the number of nonzero gaps.
Garden and resource-design calculations combine measured lengths, areas, water volumes, material fractions, travel, and evidence records. A useful budget needs consistent units and clear overlap, exclusion, and denominator rules. Supplied geometry and efficiencies describe a model rather than verified site performance.
Return zoneGaps=assigned-reference and mismatches as the number of nonzero gaps.
When to use this tool
Use Design Zone Reference Gap when you have supplied site dimensions or resource records and need the stated geometry, budget, or coverage measure.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter elementIds, assignedZones, suppliedReferenceZones. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read zoneGaps, mismatches. Use the output convention below.
Require aligned elementIds, nonnegative integer assignedZones, and nonnegative integer suppliedReferenceZones. Return zoneGaps=assigned-reference and mismatches as the number of nonzero gaps.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Zone numbers are supplied ordinal codes; subtracting them does not establish a physical distance or a meaningful interval scale. No zoning scheme, access pattern, or ecological suitability is validated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified site measurements and suitable physical or resource models for a complete design. Check units, overlap, losses, capacity, and whether an accounting share represents the intended quantity.
