Description
Compare offered and residual pediatric feeding volumes as recorded.
Pediatric records need clear age units, measurement position, reference-chart version, caregiver identity and sample-volume basis. Offered-minus-residual volume differs from verified consumption, and a size label does not select a suitable device. Recording these values does not assess growth, developmental state, nutrition or appropriate clinical care.
Compare offered and residual pediatric feeding volumes as recorded.
When to use this tool
Use Pediatric Feeding Volume Record when you already have recordId, offeredMilliliters, residualMilliliters and need to compare offered and residual pediatric feeding volumes as recorded.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter recordId, offeredMilliliters, residualMilliliters. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read recordedDifferenceMilliliters, label. Use the output convention below.
Require recordId nonempty and nonnegative offered/residual mL; return offered-residual and a label preserving both.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| recordId | Record Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| offeredMilliliters | Offered Milliliters | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| residualMilliliters | Residual Milliliters | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| recordedDifferenceMilliliters | Offered-residual volume, retaining negative results; not verified consumed volume. | Required. Finite number. |
| label | Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The difference can be negative and is not necessarily consumed volume; no feeding amount, nutritional adequacy or clinical action is recommended.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Consult the original sample, measurement-position and reference-chart records before combining pediatric data. Keep supplied age units, offered/residual volumes and caregiver roles explicit; local conversions and labels do not provide a growth or nutrition assessment.
