Description
Expand each short digit into a repeated pair, return red, green, and blue as 0-255 integers, and alpha as the final byte divided by 255.
CSS token notation separates numeric values, units, Unicode ranges, and color channels. Code-point intervals differ from Unicode scalar validity, while RGB channel bytes and alpha use different scales. A token decoder can return components without parsing a stylesheet or checking all CSS semantics.
Expand each short digit into a repeated pair, return red, green, and blue as 0-255 integers, and alpha as the final byte divided by 255.
When to use this tool
Use Css Hash Color Alpha Token when you need the components of the supported CSS color, range, or dimension token.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter token. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read red, green, blue, alpha. Use the output convention below.
Accept only four- or eight-digit hexadecimal hash colors. Expand each short digit into a repeated pair, return red, green, and blue as 0-255 integers, and alpha as the final byte divided by 255.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| token | Complete literal token in the grammar stated above. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| red | Red | Required. Safe integer. |
| green | Green | Required. Safe integer. |
| blue | Blue | Required. Safe integer. |
| alpha | Final alpha byte divided by 255; dimensionless in [0,1]. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Alpha is last, using RGBA rather than ARGB order. Other CSS color forms, three/six-digit opaque colors, color management, and perceptual conversions are not handled.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a CSS parser for escapes, identifiers, token boundaries, and complete stylesheet grammar. Apply appropriate color or Unicode interpretation only after checking the intended value model.
