Animal Exposure Score Matrix
Resolve an animal-contact exposure score from a caller-defined matrix; not an infection prediction.
Description
A score matrix can encode how contact categories and evidence categories map to exposure scores.
A score matrix can encode how contact categories and evidence categories map to exposure scores. The matrix is a caller-defined policy, not an internally selected risk model.
The tool returns exposureScore (exposure score); aboveThreshold (above threshold). Input measurements and model parameters are supplied by the caller; the tool computes the stated summary rather than acquiring those measurements.
When to use Animal Exposure Score Matrix
Use Animal Exposure Score Matrix when you already have contactIntensityScore, animalInfectionEvidenceScore, scoreMatrix, flagThreshold and want exposureScore, aboveThreshold. This is useful for checking a supplied calculation, documenting a measurement convention, or comparing observations prepared on the same basis.
How to use Animal Exposure Score Matrix and understand its results
- Enter contactIntensityScore, animalInfectionEvidenceScore, scoreMatrix, flagThreshold using the field table below. Match the units, ordering and data boundaries described in the calculation.
- Run the tool after checking the stated bounds and matching paired observations or categories. A malformed request gives a tool error rather than a usable measurement.
- Read exposureScore, aboveThreshold. Use the calculation and interpretation below to distinguish amounts, ratios, signs and decision flags where applicable.
- Review the supplied parameters and assumptions before using the result in a report or comparing it with another observation.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type and bounds | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| contactIntensityScore | Contact intensity score | integer | Required |
| animalInfectionEvidenceScore | Animal infection evidence score | integer | Required |
| scoreMatrix | Score matrix | list of list of number | Required |
| flagThreshold | Flag threshold | number | Required |
Require a nonempty rectangular matrix and nonnegative integer indexes within its dimensions. Retrieve the row-column entry and apply the supplied threshold.
score = matrix[contactIndex][evidenceIndex]; flagged = score ≥ threshold The symbols refer to the supplied quantities or generated values described above; unit conversions and comparison boundaries follow the stated implementation.

Indexes are zero-based. Scores and thresholds are not clinically validated by the calculator, and evidence is not collected or interpreted automatically.
Numerical inputs must be finite. The tool checks its declared input shape and calculation constraints; those checks do not verify the quality, calibration or representativeness of the supplied observations.
