Olfaction Item Response Code

Compare a literal olfaction item response with an explicitly supplied answer and missing code without interpreting test performance.

Description

Distinguish a recorded correct olfaction-item response from a missing code.

ENT records use explicit laterality, event markers, sampling clocks, collection volumes and anatomical/source labels. A rate or point resistance needs compatible units, while video timing depends on frame-rate assumptions. These local measurements and records do not detect a clinical event, assess airway function or choose treatment.

Distinguish a recorded correct olfaction-item response from a missing code.

When to use this tool

Use Olfaction Item Response Code when you already have itemId, recordedCode, correctCode, missingCode and need to distinguish a recorded correct olfaction-item response from a missing code.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter itemId, recordedCode, correctCode, missingCode. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read recordedCorrect, missing. Inspect recordedCorrect, missing before interpreting the associated values.

Require itemId nonempty and correctCode!=missingCode; return separate literal equality flags.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Codes may be empty if otherwise allowed; no test administration, smell function, score or diagnosis is established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original signal, collection protocol and video acquisition timing for the actual measurement. Preserve supplied side and site sources; a local volume/time rate, frame offset or point ratio does not replace a complete functional assessment.
