Description
Descriptive research range comparison against explicit supplied bounds, without selecting normal joint-motion limits.
Orthopedic bench and imaging records combine force, displacement, geometric dimensions, coordinate frames, weights, and reference measurements. An ideal material term or dimensional margin depends on its model and units. It does not by itself establish implant compatibility, tissue behavior, or safe clinical loading.
Descriptive research range comparison against explicit supplied bounds, without selecting normal joint-motion limits.
When to use this tool
Use Joint Motion Research Range Term when you need this bench, geometry, reference, score-denominator, or measurement term from supplied data.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter minimumAngle, maximumAngle, referenceMinimum, referenceMaximum. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read observedRange, referenceRange, rangeGap, overlapRange. Use the output convention below.
Require maximumAngle>=minimumAngle and referenceMaximum>=referenceMinimum. Return observedRange, referenceRange, rangeGap=observed-reference, and overlapRange=max(0,min(maxima)-max(minima)).1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Angles need one unit and are treated as linear intervals, without circular wrapping. The reference range is supplied rather than a clinical norm; motion extraction, pain, joint anatomy, and diagnosis are not evaluated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a complete material, imaging, or assessment model for the intended question. Verify measurement units, calibration, load conditions, geometry, missingness, and reference assumptions before combining terms.
