Description

Measure supplied bench-model landmark spacing without arch diagnosis or treatment planning.

Dental model and device records use coordinate frames, image scale, dimensions, force references, and observation schedules. A projection, gap, ratio, or metadata order checks a particular supplied representation. These local calculations do not establish a treatment plan or the clinical suitability of a device.

Measure supplied bench-model landmark spacing without arch diagnosis or treatment planning.

When to use this tool

Use Dental Arch Point Spacing when you need this particular model geometry, device budget, observation share, or record comparison.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstX, firstY, firstZ, secondX, secondY, secondZ, suppliedScale. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read spacing. Use the output convention below.

For positive suppliedScale return spacing=hypot(secondX-firstX,secondY-firstY,secondZ-firstZ)*scale.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
firstXFirst XRequired. Finite number.
firstYFirst YRequired. Finite number.
firstZFirst ZRequired. Finite number.
secondXSecond XRequired. Finite number.
secondYSecond YRequired. Finite number.
secondZSecond ZRequired. Finite number.
suppliedScalePositive multiplier converting the supplied coordinate or measurement difference into output units.Required. Finite number; strictly above 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
spacingStraight three-dimensional distance times suppliedScale, not arch curve length.Required. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Coordinates need one three-dimensional frame and scale maps coordinate units into length units. This is straight-line chord spacing, not dental-arch curve length, surface distance, anatomical landmark detection, or a clinical space analysis.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a validated measurement or device model and appropriate source records for the full task. Check coordinate systems, calibration, geometric assumptions, and observation denominators before interpreting the term.
