Description
Measure a sterile pack's margin to its printed expiry date.
Oral-surgery records link sites, containers, tray counts, guide versions and printed dates. Matching item counts does not establish correct or sterile items, while a printed-date margin is only one record check. Supplied labels and dates do not establish surgical readiness, specimen identity, healing or an appropriate clinical procedure.
Measure a sterile pack's margin to its printed expiry date.
When to use this tool
Use Oral Surgery Sterile Pack Expiry when you already have packId, printedExpiryDate, asOfDate and need to measure a sterile pack's margin to its printed expiry date.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter packId, printedExpiryDate, asOfDate. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read daysRemaining, pastPrintedDate. Inspect pastPrintedDate before interpreting the associated values.
Require packId nonempty and real UTC dates; daysRemaining=printedExpiry-asOf and pastPrintedDate means daysRemaining<0.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| packId | Pack Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| printedExpiryDate | Printed Expiry Date | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| asOfDate | As Of Date | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| daysRemaining | Days Remaining | Required. Finite number. |
| pastPrintedDate | Strictly daysRemaining<0; equality does not set this flag. | Required. Boolean. |
{
"input": {
"packId": "PK17",
"printedExpiryDate": "2026-11-05",
"asOfDate": "2026-11-01"
},
"output": {
"daysRemaining": 4,
"pastPrintedDate": false
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Equality is not pastPrintedDate; the tool does not establish sterility, intact packaging, storage suitability or safe use.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile the actual tray, packaging, specimen labels and versioned procedure records when checking readiness or traceability. Review storage and handling evidence as well as printed dates; matching counts and date margins alone do not establish safe use.
