Description
Return all four relative coordinates as signed decimal integer strings.
Vision research uses stimulus angles, chart notations, image scales, viewing distances, coordinate origins, and observation windows. These quantities have different denominators and measurement conventions. A conversion or support share does not independently establish a visual measurement or its clinical interpretation.
Return all four relative coordinates as signed decimal integer strings.
When to use this tool
Use Visual Grid Origin Gap when you need this image, stimulus, notation, coordinate, or observation component for supplied research data.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter row, column, firstOriginRow, firstOriginColumn, secondOriginRow, secondOriginColumn. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read firstRelativeRowDecimal, firstRelativeColumnDecimal, secondRelativeRowDecimal, secondRelativeColumnDecimal. Use the output convention below.
Use exact integer arithmetic to subtract firstOriginRow/Column and secondOriginRow/Column from the same row and column. Return all four relative coordinates as signed decimal integer strings.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| row | Row | Required. Safe integer. |
| column | Column | Required. Safe integer. |
| firstOriginRow | First Origin Row | Required. Safe integer. |
| firstOriginColumn | First Origin Column | Required. Safe integer. |
| secondOriginRow | Second Origin Row | Required. Safe integer. |
| secondOriginColumn | Second Origin Column | Required. Safe integer. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| firstRelativeRowDecimal | Exact signed integer text after subtracting the first row origin. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| firstRelativeColumnDecimal | First Relative Column Decimal | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| secondRelativeRowDecimal | Second Relative Row Decimal | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| secondRelativeColumnDecimal | Second Relative Column Decimal | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Coordinates and origins must use the same grid and indexing convention. This changes supplied origins without mapping image axes, resampling, registering scans, or validating anatomical location.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use calibrated acquisition and a documented visual or imaging protocol for complete interpretation. Confirm the reporting notation, viewing geometry, image scale, and support of the underlying observations.
