Description

Supplied nominal bench clearance only, without assistive-device fit or safety advice.

Activity and assistive-task records distinguish planned, attempted, completed, assisted, observed, and optional components. Shares depend on the selected denominator and credit policy. A supplied code, geometry, or time-budget calculation is separate from evaluating an individual's function or safe access.

Supplied nominal bench clearance only, without assistive-device fit or safety advice.

When to use this tool

Use Assistive Device Clearance Residual when you need this specific task-count, assistance-code, timing, equipment-budget, or participation-record component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter opening, deviceWidth, suppliedAllowance. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read rawClearance, residual. Use the output convention below.

For nonnegative opening, deviceWidth, and suppliedAllowance return rawClearance=opening-deviceWidth and residual=rawClearance-allowance.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • All lengths need one unit. The one-dimensional allowance is caller-supplied, without turning geometry, measurement uncertainty, obstacles, individual function, or safe device access verification.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the intended assessment and a complete task or access model when a local check is insufficient. Verify task definitions, credit policies, measurement units, and the context of the underlying observations.
