Description
Return deliveryDelay=received-clockOffset-sent, readbackDelay=readback-received, totalDelay=readback-clockOffset-sent, and insideWindow on totalDelay<=window.
Care and training records use task identifiers, source labels, counts, time intervals, observations, and accounting bases. Documentation support, actual delivery, and clinical quality are different questions. A local record rule or budget should be interpreted according to its explicit inclusion and denominator conventions.
Return deliveryDelay=received-clockOffset-sent, readbackDelay=readback-received, totalDelay=readback-clockOffset-sent, and insideWindow on totalDelay<=window.
When to use this tool
Use Nursing Handover Readback Delay Term when you need this care-record, observation, training, supply, time, or accounting component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sent, received, readback, clockOffset, suppliedWindow. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read deliveryDelay, readbackDelay, totalDelay, insideWindow. Inspect insideWindow before interpreting the associated values.
Require received-clockOffset>=sent, readback>=received, and nonnegative suppliedWindow. Return deliveryDelay=received-clockOffset-sent, readbackDelay=readback-received, totalDelay=readback-clockOffset-sent, and insideWindow on totalDelay<=window.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sent | Sent | Required. Finite number. |
| received | Received | Required. Finite number. |
| readback | Readback | Required. Finite number. |
| clockOffset | Received/readback clock minus sent reference clock, in the same time unit. | Required. Finite number. |
| suppliedWindow | Supplied Window | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| deliveryDelay | Delivery Delay | Required. Finite number. |
| readbackDelay | Readback Delay | Required. Finite number. |
| totalDelay | Total Delay | Required. Finite number. |
| insideWindow | Inside Window | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Sent uses the reference clock while received and readback share the offset clock, in one time unit. The window is supplied, not a clinical communication deadline; readback content, actual receipt, and safe handover are not verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use authenticated records and the intended care, inventory, or training protocol for a full assessment. Verify source support, counting rules, time bases, and any contractual or consent conditions independently.
