ATN Classification Tool
Label supplied A/T/N biomarkers with caller assay thresholds and direction, inclusive at threshold; profiles are descriptive research categories, not a diagnosis or disease stage.
Description
An A/T/N profile combines three biomarker positivity decisions.
An A/T/N profile combines three biomarker positivity decisions. Each assay can have a different threshold and high-positive or low-positive direction.
The tool returns positiveFlags (positive flags); profile (profile). Input measurements and model parameters are supplied by the caller; the tool computes the stated summary rather than acquiring those measurements.
When to use ATN Classification Tool
Use ATN Classification Tool when you already have biomarkerValues, positiveThresholds, positiveDirections and want positiveFlags, profile. This is useful for checking a supplied calculation, documenting a measurement convention, or comparing observations prepared on the same basis.
How to use ATN Classification Tool and understand its results
- Enter biomarkerValues, positiveThresholds, positiveDirections using the field table below. Match the units, ordering and data boundaries described in the calculation.
- Run the tool after checking the stated bounds and matching paired observations or categories. A malformed request gives a tool error rather than a usable measurement.
- Read positiveFlags, profile. Use the calculation and interpretation below to distinguish amounts, ratios, signs and decision flags where applicable.
- Review the supplied parameters and assumptions before using the result in a report or comparing it with another observation.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type and bounds | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| biomarkerValues | Biomarker values | list of number | Required |
| positiveThresholds | Positive thresholds | list of number | Required |
| positiveDirections | Positive directions | list of number | Required |
Require exactly three values, thresholds and directions in A,T,N order. Directions are +1 or −1; equality is positive in either direction. Build the combined profile string.
positive[i] = direction[i]×(value[i]−threshold[i]) ≥ 0 The symbols refer to the supplied quantities or generated values described above; unit conversions and comparison boundaries follow the stated implementation.

Thresholds and assays are supplied; the profile is not an automatic clinical diagnosis or current guideline recommendation.
Numerical inputs must be finite. The tool checks its declared input shape and calculation constraints; those checks do not verify the quality, calibration or representativeness of the supplied observations.
