Description
Sum included reference weight and included valid weight, and return their share when referenceWeight>0, otherwise zero with defined=false.
Neurophysiological research records use sample coordinates, event clocks, epoch boundaries, references, signal amplitudes, and spectral bins. Timing conversions and support shares depend on rate, origin, exclusion, and boundary policies. Arithmetic on supplied values is separate from signal detection, validated acquisition, or neurological interpretation.
Sum included reference weight and included valid weight, and return their share when referenceWeight>0, otherwise zero with defined=false.
When to use this tool
Use EEG Reference Support Share when you need this research signal, sample, event, epoch, reference, or spectral component from supplied data.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter channelWeights, channelValid, referenceIncluded. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read referenceWeight, validReferenceWeight, share, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.
Require aligned nonnegative channelWeights with channelValid and referenceIncluded. Sum included reference weight and included valid weight, and return their share when referenceWeight>0, otherwise zero with defined=false.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| channelWeights | Channel Weights | Required. Array of finite number; minimum 0; maximum items 256. |
| channelValid | Channel Valid | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| referenceIncluded | Reference Included | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| referenceWeight | Reference Weight | Required. Finite number. |
| validReferenceWeight | Valid Reference Weight | Required. Finite number. |
| share | Dimensionless share using the stated denominator, not a percentage numeral. | Required. Finite number. |
| defined | Whether the stated denominator or quantity is defined; inspect before using a placeholder. | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Weights and validity flags are supplied. This evaluates support of a chosen reference set, not reference accuracy, montage appropriateness, recording quality, or a clinical finding.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use calibrated acquisition and the intended signal-analysis protocol for a complete assessment. Verify sample rate, coordinate origin, clock offsets, reference configuration, filtering assumptions, and observation support.
