Description
Intersect the collection and target intervals.
Time-window accounting separates gross duration, overlap, pauses, and eligible exposure. A fraction is interpretable only when its numerator and denominator use compatible intervals and units.
Intersect the collection and target intervals.
When to use this tool
Use Urine Collection Window Fraction when you need to reconcile explicit durations or interval support.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter collectionStart, collectionEnd, targetStart, targetEnd. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read overlapDuration, targetFraction. Use the output convention below.
Intersect the collection and target intervals. Divide their nonnegative overlap by the strictly positive target duration.1

| targetStart | Target Start | Required. Finite number. |
| targetEnd | Target End | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| overlapDuration | Overlap Duration | Required. Finite number. |
| targetFraction | Target Fraction | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use one common time coordinate and unit; overlap does not demonstrate completeness or specimen quality.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use timestamped intervals to calculate overlap unions when summed durations and supplied corrections are insufficient.
