Renal Assay Censored Precision Tool

Represent supplied assay qualifier bounds; unbounded endpoints use flagged zero placeholders and exact means nearest supplied quantum.

Description

For exact, return value ± quantum / 2 with both bounds marked present.

A reported threshold is not an exact measured value. Censored observations have one available bound, while a rounded exact value can be represented by a finite interval.

For exact, return value ± quantum / 2 with both bounds marked present.

When to use this tool

Use Renal Assay Censored Precision when you need to preserve bound availability rather than treating every number as exact.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter value, qualifier, quantum. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read lower, upper, lowerBounded, upperBounded. Inspect lowerBounded, upperBounded before interpreting the associated values.

For exact, return value ± quantum / 2 with both bounds marked present. For less-than, mark only upper = value present; for greater-than, mark only lower = value present.1

upperUpper value, meaningful only when upperBounded is true.Required. Finite number.
lowerBoundedLower BoundedRequired. Boolean.

Limitations and assumptions

  • An absent bound is stored as zero and must be interpreted through its Boolean flag; no probability distribution or censoring model is fitted.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Retain the original assay qualifier and use an appropriate censored-data method for statistical analysis.
