Description
Separate dialysis-session elapsed time from active time after interruptions.
Renal records distinguish spot/daily reporting, urine/plasma units, indexed versus absolute results and session-relative sampling. A label for an indexed value does not perform body-area scaling, while session mass change differs from verified fluid removal. Source definitions and clinical context remain necessary for interpretation.
Separate dialysis-session elapsed time from active time after interruptions.
When to use this tool
Use Dialysis Actual Session Duration when you already have startMinutes, endMinutes, interruptionMinutes and need to separate dialysis-session elapsed time from active time after interruptions.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter startMinutes, endMinutes, interruptionMinutes. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read elapsedMinutes, activeMinutes. Use the output convention below.
Require end>=start and interruption within [0,end-start]; elapsed=end-start, active=elapsed-interruption, in minutes.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| startMinutes | Start Minutes | Required. Finite number. |
| endMinutes | End Minutes | Required. Finite number. |
| interruptionMinutes | Interruption Minutes | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| elapsedMinutes | Elapsed Minutes | Required. Finite number. |
| activeMinutes | Elapsed minus supplied interruptions; a time record, not a dialysis dose. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No treatment adequacy, prescription, delivered dose or suitable session duration is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Check the original collection, laboratory and session records before combining values. Apply a complete validated measurement or calculation method when conversion beyond the stated units or reference labels is required; do not infer renal function from a local record helper.
