Description
Express a supplied neonatal age in completed days and remaining hours.
Neonatal records connect birth-event identity, age wording, posture, monitor intervals and prepared/residual feed quantities. Recorded elapsed age differs from corrected age, and a feed-volume residual differs from verified intake. Pending-screen and channel labels remain supplied administrative observations rather than clinical assessments.
Express a supplied neonatal age in completed days and remaining hours.
When to use this tool
Use Neonatal Age Hours Days Label when you already have ageHours and need to express a supplied neonatal age in completed days and remaining hours.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter ageHours. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read completedDays, remainingHours, label. Use the output convention below.
Require ageHours>=0; days=floor(hours/24), remainder=hours-days*24 and return a days/hours label.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| ageHours | Age Hours | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| completedDays | Completed Days | Required. Safe integer. |
| remainingHours | Residual after removing whole 24-hour days; may be fractional. | Required. Finite number. |
| label | Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

},
"output": {
"completedDays": 2,
"remainingHours": 6,

}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Hours may be fractional. An unsafe completed-day output is rejected; no birthdate, corrected age or developmental assessment is derived.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile original birth, monitoring, screening and feeding records for an actual care question. Preserve age and volume bases explicitly; local flags, time differences and unit representations do not establish readiness, nutrition or developmental state.
