Image File Storage TB Estimate Calculator
Conditional museum-image storage inventory with actual independently declared encoded sizes and replica count. Exact byte text retained, decimal TB=10^12bytes, not TiB, compression prediction, filesystem overhead or resilience guarantee.
Description
Image storage estimates depend on image classes, bytes per image and explicitly counted replicas.
Image storage estimates depend on image classes, bytes per image and explicitly counted replicas.1
Decimal terabytes differ from binary tebibytes.
When to use Image File Storage TB Estimate Calculator
Use this tool to calculate or review the supplied observations under the stated rules. Establish the object or visitor scope, measurement units and independently applicable conservation, engineering, access or editorial reference.
How to use Image File Storage TB Estimate Calculator and understand its results
- Establish the object or visitor scope, measurement units and independently applicable conservation, engineering, access or editorial reference.
- Enter callerImageCountsByClass, callerVerifiedBytesPerImageByClass, callerExplicitReplicaCount, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
- Read result.conditionalTotalStorageBytesText, result.conditionalDecimalTerabytes. Use the units and sign conventions below.
- Correct any reported input issue and run again. Before using a successful result, check the stated units, signs, reference scope and observation coverage.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| callerImageCountsByClass | Caller image counts by class | list of number | Required |
| callerVerifiedBytesPerImageByClass | Caller verified bytes per image by class | list of number | Required |
| callerExplicitReplicaCount | Caller explicit replica count | number | Required |
Require nonempty aligned integer image counts 0–1000000000 and bytes-per-image 0–1000000000000, plus integer replicas 1–100. Sum counts×bytes and multiply by replicas using BigInt. Return exact total bytes as decimal text and decimal terabytes using 10^12 bytes per TB. Metadata, compression variation and unlisted storage overhead are not included.
exactBytes=replicas×Σ(count_i×bytesPerImage_i); decimalTB=exactBytes/10^12 Use the matching field units and the exact boundary, ordering and reference rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| result | Structured result; its nested fields below contain the actual calculation or selected reference | object |
| result.conditionalTotalStorageBytesText | Exact BigInt total storage bytes as decimal text, including the explicit replica multiplier | string |
| result.conditionalDecimalTerabytes | Storage total divided by 10^12 bytes; decimal TB rather than binary TiB | number |

} Limitations and assumptions
Object condition, observation coverage and applicable references determine applicability. A supplied comparison or record does not certify conservation treatment, engineering, access compliance or insurance eligibility.
Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types and violated rules return input issues. Numeric values and outputs must be finite. Lists and matrices must be dense, without missing cells. Numeric lists allow at most 10000 entries; ordinary string lists allow at most 128 strings of 128 UTF-16 units each; numeric matrices allow at most 128 rows and 128 columns, subject to narrower requirements above. Extremely large composite outputs are rejected.
