Truck Spotting Time Calculator
Audit actual timestamped TruckSpotting durations with right-censored ongoing phases, not predicted speed travel or full-cycle average with assumed complete phase observations. Caller independently verifies units, applicability and matching conditions; no operational recipe, safety certification, causal efficacy or legal/resource classification is inferred.
Description
Truck spotting records can include both completed and ongoing phases.
Truck spotting records can include both completed and ongoing phases.1
A last-seen timestamp gives only a lower bound for an ongoing duration.
When to use Truck Spotting Time Calculator
Use this tool to calculate or review the supplied observations under the stated rules. Match completed survey or ledger observations by block, segment or stage and confirm their units and boundaries.
How to use Truck Spotting Time Calculator and understand its results
- Match completed survey or ledger observations by block, segment or stage and confirm their units and boundaries.
- Enter observedTruckSpottingStartMinutes, observedTruckSpottingEndOrLastSeenMinutes, observedTruckSpottingCompletionFlags, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
- Read completedPhaseDurationsMinutes, rightCensoredPhaseLowerBoundsMinutes, completedMeanPhaseMinutes. Inspect nested result fields where present, and review unknown records separately from known matches.
- Correct any reported input issue and run again. Before using a successful result, check the stated units, signs, reference scope and observation coverage.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| observedTruckSpottingStartMinutes | Observed truck spotting start minutes | list of number | Required |
| observedTruckSpottingEndOrLastSeenMinutes | Observed truck spotting end or last seen minutes | list of number | Required |
| observedTruckSpottingCompletionFlags | Observed truck spotting completion flags | list of number | Required |
Use aligned nonnegative start and end-or-last-seen minute coordinates plus binary completion flags. Require each end≥start. Separate completed durations from right-censored lower bounds in source order, and compute the mean of completed durations only. At least one completed phase is required. These timestamps need not form a chronological list or a complete cycle.
duration_i=endOrLastSeen_i−start_i; completedMean=Σ_complete duration_i/completedCount Use the matching field units and the exact boundary, ordering and reference rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| completedPhaseDurationsMinutes | Completed phase durations minutes | list of number |
| rightCensoredPhaseLowerBoundsMinutes | Right censored phase lower bounds minutes | list of number |
| completedMeanPhaseMinutes | Completed mean phase minutes | number |

Right-censored observations are excluded from the completed mean. That mean describes the completed subset and can be biased as an estimate of all phases; the tool does not fit a censored-duration model or predict a full truck cycle.
Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types and violated rules return input issues. Numeric values and outputs must be finite. Lists and matrices must be dense, without missing cells. Numeric lists allow at most 10000 entries; ordinary string lists allow at most 128 strings of 128 UTF-16 units each; numeric matrices allow at most 128 rows and 128 columns, subject to narrower requirements above.
