Description
Require earliest ≤ latest and return earliest + (latest - earliest) / 2 as center and half the width as halfWidth.
A watchdog refresh window is an interval of allowed elapsed time. Clock tolerance and inclusive endpoints affect whether a nominal refresh time falls inside that interval.
Require earliest ≤ latest and return earliest + (latest - earliest) / 2 as center and half the width as halfWidth.
When to use this tool
Use Watchdog Window Center when you need an explicit watchdog timing window or clock bound.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter earliest, latest. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read center, halfWidth. Use the output convention below.
Require earliest ≤ latest and return earliest + (latest - earliest) / 2 as center and half the width as halfWidth.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |

| latest | Latest | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| center | Center | Required. Finite number. |
| halfWidth | Half Width | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use a common time unit and origin; hardware refresh rules and oscillator uncertainty are not inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Check the device datasheet and measured worst-case execution timing before relying on a refresh schedule.
