Description
Add nonnegative heldSeconds to scheduled for revisedCue.
A timestamp difference produces an age or lag only after both timestamps use one origin and unit. Negative differences can be meaningful diagnostics of future samples or early events.
Add nonnegative heldSeconds to scheduled for revisedCue.
When to use this tool
Use Broadcast Cuehold Clock Gap when you need a supplied sample-age or event-lag calculation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter scheduled, heldSeconds, actual. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read revisedCue, lateness. Use the output convention below.
Add nonnegative heldSeconds to scheduled for revisedCue. Subtract that revised cue from actual for lateness.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| scheduled | Scheduled | Required. Finite number. |
| heldSeconds | Held Seconds | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| actual | Observed value on the same scale and unit as its prediction. | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| revisedCue | Revised Cue | Required. Finite number. |
| lateness | Lateness | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Scheduled and actual must share a second-based coordinate; negative lateness means early and no broadcast scheduling action is taken.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
