Description
Calculate a12 × b21 - b12 × a21 for the first diagonal entry of AB - BA and return its negative for the second.
Matrix-product entries are dot products of matching rows and columns. Trace and Rayleigh-quotient contributions require corresponding coordinates from the same underlying calculation.

When to use this tool
Use Matrix 2x2 Commutator Diagonal Entry when you need one explicit real matrix-product contribution.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter a12, a21, b12, b21. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read first, second. Use the output convention below.

} Limitations and assumptions
- This uses the two-by-two diagonal cancellation identity; off-diagonal commutator entries and whole-matrix commutativity are not evaluated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
