Infinite Product Sine Approximation

Approximate sin(πx) by the explicit finite Weierstrass/Euler product πx∏_(k=1..N)(1−x²/k²), preserving signs and exactly included integer-root factors with log accumulation; supplied cutoff means no hidden infinite tail, direct trigonometric alias or certified error.

Description

The sine Euler product represents sin(πx) through infinitely many root factors.

The sine Euler product represents sin(πx) through infinitely many root factors. A finite factor count retains only the roots explicitly included in that product.1

Approximate sin(πx) by the explicit finite Weierstrass/Euler product πx∏_(k=1..N)(1−x²/k²), preserving signs and exactly included integer-root factors with log accumulation; supplied cutoff means no hidden infinite tail, direct trigonometric alias or certified error.

When to use Infinite Product Sine Approximation

Use this tool to approximate sin(πx) by the explicit finite Weierstrass/Euler product πx∏_(k=1..N)(1−x²/k²), preserving signs and exactly included integer-root factors with log accumulation; supplied cutoff means no hidden infinite tail, direct trigonometric alias or certified error.

Choose the integer, sequence, coefficients or function parameters for your calculation. Follow the stated ordering, domain and size limits.

How to use Infinite Product Sine Approximation and understand its results

  1. Choose the integer, sequence, coefficients or function parameters for your calculation. Follow the stated ordering, domain and size limits.
  2. Enter normalizedArgumentX, productFactors using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read finiteSineEulerProduct, zeroFactorIncluded. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
Input fieldMeaningValue type; see rules belowRequirement
normalizedArgumentXNormalized argument xnumberRequired
productFactorsProduct factorsnumberRequired

Use |x|≤100 and integer N from 1 to 100,000. Track signs and accumulate log magnitudes with log1p where appropriate. A nonzero integer root with |x|≤N returns zero and zeroFactorIncluded true; x=0 returns zero with that factor flag false.

finite product = πx ∏[k=1..N](1−x²/k²)

Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

The omitted infinite tail has no certified error bound. The output is the finite product, not a direct call to sine.

Numeric inputs and returned numeric values must be finite; an unrepresentable returned value produces an error. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors. A successfully returned false flag is an evaluated outcome; its meaning is explained above.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use Jacobi Theta Approximation: Evaluate specifically real Jacobi θ3(z,q)=1+2Σ q^(n²)cos(2nz) with a geometric upper tail bound; theta index/real-nome convention explicit, not all theta functions or complex continuation. For a complementary task, use Dedekind Eta Approximation: Approximate real positive-nome Dedekind eta q^(1/24)∏_(n=1..N)(1−q^n), τ purely imaginary and q=exp(2πiτ); explicit finite product, not generic complex eta or a duplicate alias.
