Parse valid Gregorian start/end dates in years 0001–9999 and require end≥start. Compute completed calendar months from anchors based on the original start day, clamped to each target month's final day. Reduce a candidate month count if its anchor falls after the end, then split completed months into years and extra months; remaining days run from that clamped anchor to the end. No fixed 365-day or 30-day division is used.
