Description
Select the last bound no greater than nonnegative ageDays.
Capacity accounting compares available supply with commitments, reservations, or demand. Negative residuals can expose overload while zero capacity requires a distinct undefined utilization state.
Select the last bound no greater than nonnegative ageDays.
When to use this tool
Use Work Item Ageing Band when you need a transparent resource or workload capacity term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter ageDays, lowerBounds, labels. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read band. Use the output convention below.
Require aligned nonempty lowerBounds and labels with first bound zero and subsequent bounds strictly increasing. Select the last bound no greater than nonnegative ageDays.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| ageDays | Age Days | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| lowerBounds | Lower Bounds | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| labels | Labels | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| band | Band | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Boundary values enter that band and the final band has no upper cap; no service deadline, urgency, or policy priority is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Validate calendars, skill constraints, and concurrent demand with the actual resource plan.
