Caribbean Tonnage Caller Base Tool

Calculate caribbean tonnage caller base from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Multiply nonnegative recordedTonnage by positive suppliedBaseUnitsPerTon and return the nonempty source label unchanged.

A supplied unit factor translates a quantity to a declared target basis. Historical and laboratory unit names can conceal different regional or material-specific definitions.

Multiply nonnegative recordedTonnage by positive suppliedBaseUnitsPerTon and return the nonempty source label unchanged.

When to use this tool

Use Caribbean Tonnage Caller Base when you need a transparent conversion using factors already established.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter recordedTonnage, suppliedBaseUnitsPerTon, source. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read baseMass, source. Use the output convention below.

Multiply nonnegative recordedTonnage by positive suppliedBaseUnitsPerTon and return the nonempty source label unchanged.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The caller must select the correct historical mass convention; tonnage is not automatically interpreted as mass or vessel capacity.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Verify the original unit definition, quantity type, and measurement uncertainty before applying a conversion factor.
