Description
Multiply length by firstHalfWidth + secondHalfWidth for approximateArea.
Simple site geometry approximates an area, section, or volume using ideal shapes. Coherent length units and the distinction between signed and unsigned quantities determine the result's meaning.
Multiply length by firstHalfWidth + secondHalfWidth for approximateArea.
When to use this tool
Use Planting BED Irregular Edge Halfwidth when you need one transparent landscape geometry component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter length, firstHalfWidth, secondHalfWidth. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read approximateArea. Use the output convention below.
Multiply length by firstHalfWidth + secondHalfWidth for approximateArea.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| length | Length, count, or code length under the stated domain and unit convention. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| firstHalfWidth | First Half Width | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| secondHalfWidth | Second Half Width | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| approximateArea | Approximate Area | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The inputs are half-widths whose sum supplies the effective full width; irregular boundaries are not sampled or integrated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a surveyed terrain or construction model when irregular shapes, settlement, drainage, and structural performance matter.
