GMFM Dimension Score

Average dimension percentages for an explicitly supplied GMFM score sheet.

Description

A GMFM dimension summary averages five dimension percentages with equal weight.

A GMFM dimension summary averages five dimension percentages with equal weight. It differs from pooling earned points across unequal maxima.1

Average dimension percentages for an explicitly supplied GMFM score sheet.

When to use GMFM Dimension Score

Use this tool to average dimension percentages for an explicitly supplied GMFM score sheet.

Prepare the measured movement, timing, load or preassigned score requested. Keep protocols, units, paired measurements and caller-selected thresholds consistent.

How to use GMFM Dimension Score and understand its results

  1. Prepare the measured movement, timing, load or preassigned score requested. Keep protocols, units, paired measurements and caller-selected thresholds consistent.
  2. Enter dimensionAchievedPoints, dimensionPossiblePoints using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read dimensionPercentages, overallPercent. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.

dimensionPossiblePointsDimension possible pointslist of numberRequired

Enter exactly five aligned earned/maxima values, positive maxima and earned values from zero through each maximum. Fractional points are accepted. Return dimension percentages and mean.

dimension%=100earned/possible; overall=mean(five percentages)

Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

No official score sheet, item administration or GMFM-66 conversion is performed.

Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use Mini Bestest Score: Sum fourteen Mini-BESTest item scores on the 28-point scale. For a complementary task, use Berg Balance Score: Sum fourteen Berg Balance Scale item scores on the 56-point scale.
