Description
Divide totalRent by allocatedQuantity when useAllocated is true, otherwise importedQuantity.
A specific duty is an amount per unit, while an ad valorem rate is a fraction of a valuation base. Quotas and input-output adjustments introduce additional supplied assumptions.
Divide totalRent by allocatedQuantity when useAllocated is true, otherwise importedQuantity.
When to use this tool
Use Quota Rent Denominator Gap when you need a tariff or quota-model arithmetic component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter totalRent, allocatedQuantity, importedQuantity, useAllocated. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read rentPerUnit, denominatorGap. Use the output convention below.
Divide totalRent by allocatedQuantity when useAllocated is true, otherwise importedQuantity. Return allocated minus imported quantity as denominatorGap.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| totalRent | Total Rent | Required. Finite number. |
| allocatedQuantity | Allocated Quantity | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| importedQuantity | Imported Quantity | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| useAllocated | Use Allocated | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| rentPerUnit | Rent Per Unit | Required. Finite number. |
| denominatorGap | Denominator Gap | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Both quantities must be positive even when one is unselected; rent can be signed and quota policy is not inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
