Orient one explicitly supplied positive currency quote without a current exchange-rate lookup.

Description

Require positive quote and return its reciprocal when reverse, otherwise the supplied quote.

An exchange quote states how much of one currency corresponds to another. Reciprocals, price-level factors, valuation bridges, and pass-through models require consistent orientation.

Require positive quote and return its reciprocal when reverse, otherwise the supplied quote.

When to use this tool

Use Contract Currency Quote Orientation when you need one supplied exchange-factor or valuation calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter quote, reverse. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read factor. Use the output convention below.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The quote's currency pair and direction must be known; no exchange rate, spread, or fee is fetched.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Check currency direction, quote date, bid/ask conventions, and the full transaction or model before interpreting the result.
