Conditional Codebook Context Weight Tool

Compute conditional codebook context weight from explicit bounded inputs.

Loading tool…

Description

Multiply contextMass in [0, 1] by nonnegative conditionalLength for weightedLength.

A code's symbol cost, length, overhead, and expected rate use different denominators. An ideal information budget is not necessarily the measured size of a practical encoded message.

Multiply contextMass in [0, 1] by nonnegative conditionalLength for weightedLength.

When to use this tool

Use Conditional Codebook Context Weight when you need one explicit coding-cost or redundancy component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter contextMass, conditionalLength. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read weightedLength. Use the output convention below.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Length units are supplied; this is one context-weighted term rather than a complete conditional code length or probability model.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
