Document Access Tier Order Tool

Compare supplied access-tier tokens under an explicit ordering without granting access or establishing authorization.

Description

If known, compare requester and document indices in the selected direction and return requester minus document as tierGap; otherwise return gap zero and allowed false.

An access tier or availability window records only part of an authorization policy. Known dates and rank comparisons do not establish identity, consent, or cultural permission to use material.

If known, compare requester and document indices in the selected direction and return requester minus document as tierGap; otherwise return gap zero and allowed false.

When to use this tool

Use Document Access Tier Order when you need a supplied access-metadata consistency check.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter documentTier, requesterTier, suppliedOrder, higherIndexAllowsLower. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read known, allowedUnderOrder, tierGap. Inspect known, allowedUnderOrder before interpreting the associated values.

Require duplicate-free suppliedOrder and locate both tiers. If known, compare requester and document indices in the selected direction and return requester minus document as tierGap; otherwise return gap zero and allowed false.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The unknown-tier zero is a placeholder; this is a supplied order check rather than authentication, access enforcement, or legal permission.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the responsible authority, community protocol, and actual access-control policy before retrieving or reusing material.
