Dosage Form Active Weight Fraction

Normalize an explicitly supplied active mass to compatible total-form mass without estimating potency or a dose.

Description

Calculate supplied active mass as a fraction of total dosage-form mass.

Pharmaceutical production records require explicit mass units, purity basis, sample-volume conventions and controlled dates. Mean form mass differs from active-content uniformity, while retest and expiry have different meanings. Supplied manufacturing terms do not establish quality, release, a preparation protocol or appropriate medication use.

Calculate supplied active mass as a fraction of total dosage-form mass.

When to use this tool

Use Dosage Form Active Weight Fraction when you already have activeMass, totalFormMass and need to calculate supplied active mass as a fraction of total dosage-form mass.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter activeMass, totalFormMass. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read fraction, remainder. Use the output convention below.

Require totalFormMass>0 and activeMass within total; return active/total and total-active.1

activeMassActive MassRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
totalFormMassTotal Form MassRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Matching mass units and ingredient definitions are assumed; no identity, uniformity, release, dose or clinical suitability is established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the original batch, assay, reference-material and stability records with the complete controlled method. Reconcile sampling and unit bases before combining local terms; one mass fraction or date comparison does not validate product quality or authorize release.
