Operator Standard Work Walking Share Tool

Calculate supplied walking time fraction and nonwalking remainder in one explicit positive standard-work cycle.

Description

Calculate walking time as a share of a supplied work cycle.

Production quantities distinguish planned time, operating time, setup, cycle time, demand, first-pass good units and accepted rework. A local availability term is not complete OEE, and equal time-per-unit arithmetic is not measured capacity. Counts and durations must share one nonoverlapping accounting scope.

Calculate walking time as a share of a supplied work cycle.

When to use this tool

Use Operator Standard Work Walking Share when you already have walkingMinutes, totalCycleMinutes and need to calculate walking time as a share of a supplied work cycle.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter walkingMinutes, totalCycleMinutes. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read fraction, remainder. Use the output convention below.

Require totalCycleMinutes>0 and walkingMinutes within total; return walking/total and total-walking.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
walkingMinutesWalking MinutesRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
totalCycleMinutesTotal Cycle MinutesRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
fractionFractionRequired. Finite number.
remainderRemainderRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The cycle is supplied; no actual observation, productivity, ergonomics or appropriate work allocation is assessed.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the full time study, production ledger and process definition before interpreting performance. Use a complete capacity, OEE or workflow analysis when bottlenecks, quality, concurrency and operating constraints matter beyond one local term.
