Description
Label a supplied changeover task as internal or external.
Production quantities distinguish planned time, operating time, setup, cycle time, demand, first-pass good units and accepted rework. A local availability term is not complete OEE, and equal time-per-unit arithmetic is not measured capacity. Counts and durations must share one nonoverlapping accounting scope.
Label a supplied changeover task as internal or external.
When to use this tool
Use Changeover External Internal Task Label when you already have taskCode, canRunWhileMachineOperates, recordedMinutes and need to label a supplied changeover task as internal or external.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter taskCode, canRunWhileMachineOperates, recordedMinutes. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read classification, internalMinutes, externalMinutes. Use the output convention below.
Require taskCode nonempty and recordedMinutes>=0. If canRunWhileMachineOperates, classify external and put all minutes there; otherwise classify internal and put all minutes there.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| taskCode | Task Code | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| canRunWhileMachineOperates | Supplied classification flag, not a safety assessment or instruction to work on operating machinery. | Required. Boolean. |
| recordedMinutes | Recorded Minutes | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| classification | Classification | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| internalMinutes | Internal Minutes | Required. Finite number. |
| externalMinutes | External Minutes | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Machine-operating compatibility is asserted rather than verified; the tool does not recommend performing a task while equipment runs.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the full time study, production ledger and process definition before interpreting performance. Use a complete capacity, OEE or workflow analysis when bottlenecks, quality, concurrency and operating constraints matter beyond one local term.
