Enclosure Rib Draft Thickness Change Tool

Signed linear draft geometry, retaining a negative tip result as an explicit geometry conflict.

Loading tool…

Description

Multiply height × tan(draftRadians) by one or two drafted sides, negate for thicknessChange, and add to baseThickness for tipThickness.

Ideal product geometry maps dimensions into lengths, areas, or coordinates under a stated shape model. A dimension ratio does not by itself establish manufacturability, strength, or usability.

Multiply height × tan(draftRadians) by one or two drafted sides, negate for thicknessChange, and add to baseThickness for tipThickness.

When to use this tool

Use Enclosure Rib Draft Thickness Change when you need one explicit product-geometry component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter baseThickness, height, draftRadians, bothSides. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read tipThickness, thicknessChange. Use the output convention below.

Multiply height × tan(draftRadians) by one or two drafted sides, negate for thicknessChange, and add to baseThickness for tipThickness.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Angles must lie strictly between -π/2 and π/2; negative draft thickens the tip and a negative tip thickness is not rejected as an impossible part.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the complete design model, material data, tolerances, and physical verification for engineering decisions.
