Description

Multiply nonnegative equalLegChamferWidth by sqrt(2) for chamferFaceLength.

Ideal product geometry maps dimensions into lengths, areas, or coordinates under a stated shape model. A dimension ratio does not by itself establish manufacturability, strength, or usability.

Multiply nonnegative equalLegChamferWidth by sqrt(2) for chamferFaceLength.

When to use this tool

Use Chamfer Width Face Length when you need one explicit product-geometry component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter equalLegChamferWidth. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read chamferFaceLength. Use the output convention below.

Multiply nonnegative equalLegChamferWidth by sqrt(2) for chamferFaceLength.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This assumes a 45-degree equal-leg chamfer; the input is a leg dimension, not face width, angle, tolerance, or an arbitrary chamfer specification.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods
