Description
Return observationYear-boundaryVintageYear, mark futureVintage for a negative age, and currentUnderLimit only for a nonnegative age no greater than suppliedMaxAge.
Population indicators depend on compatible boundaries, time periods, counted groups, and denominator choices. A share or density can change when exclusions or daytime populations change, even without arithmetic error.
Return observationYear-boundaryVintageYear, mark futureVintage for a negative age, and currentUnderLimit only for a nonnegative age no greater than suppliedMaxAge.
When to use this tool
Use Settlement Boundary Ageflag when you need one transparent population-accounting component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter observationYear, boundaryVintageYear, suppliedMaxAge. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read ageYears, currentUnderLimit, futureVintage. Inspect currentUnderLimit, futureVintage before interpreting the associated values.

} Limitations and assumptions
- The maximum age is a nonnegative integer; vintage comparison does not establish geographic compatibility, boundary accuracy, or data suitability.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
