autocomplete Standard Tokens Lookup
Classifies individual standard autocomplete tokens as field, contact qualifier, address qualifier, section, mode, credential or unknown. Whole-attribute order and control applicability need a separate check.
Description
Autocomplete tokens communicate the expected field meaning and can qualify its section, address or contact context.
Autocomplete tokens communicate the expected field meaning and can qualify its section, address or contact context. Recognizing individual tokens precedes checking a whole attribute’s allowed order.1
The tool returns categories, recognized. The fields describe the supplied local pattern or effective state, or contain the formatted markup shown below.
When to use autocomplete Standard Tokens Lookup
Use this for the following task: Classifies individual standard autocomplete tokens as field, contact qualifier, address qualifier, section, mode, credential or unknown. Whole-attribute order and control applicability need a separate check. Provide the requested local fields extracted from the relevant element or attribute.
How to use autocomplete Standard Tokens Lookup and understand its results
- Prepare the parsed element names, attribute values or direct element-child lists requested below. Keep attribute presence separate from its value.
- Enter tokens according to the field table, then run the tool.
- Read categories, recognized. Check the effective state, recognized-token flags or generated markup against the rules below.
- Correct any reported local mismatch and check the resulting markup in its intended document and browser context.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type and bounds | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| tokens | Tokens | list of string; minimum entries 0; maximum entries 10000; each entry: maximum text length 10000 | Required |
Supply separate tokens. Fold ASCII case, check field and qualifier vocabularies, recognize on/off and webauthn, and classify a single whitespace-free token starting section- as a section.
category: field, contact, address, section, mode, credential or unknown The symbols and boundary conditions refer to the supplied fields and the implementation described above.

} Limitations and assumptions
This implementation accepts section- itself as a section token. Full attribute ordering, control applicability and browser autofill behavior are not validated.
The tool does not fetch a page, run a browser or validate an entire HTML document. Malformed tool requests produce input errors; valid requests can still report unrecognized values or failed local checks.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Choose Input Types Full List Lookup when you need its operation: Looks up all 22 standard input type keywords and resolves unknown or missing values to text. Keyword matching is ASCII case insensitive without trimming. Choose Global Attributes List Lookup for the complementary operation: Looks up named HTML global attributes including DOM class, id and slot. Separately identifies data-* and aria-* families without validating individual family names or event handlers.
