Description
Multiply menuSubtotal by nonnegative serviceChargeRateFraction for serviceCharge and add it to subtotal for total.
Hospitality quantities depend on service periods, capacity rules, portions, room counts, and charging conventions. A component estimate uses the supplied assumptions and does not confirm availability or a complete booking price.
Multiply menuSubtotal by nonnegative serviceChargeRateFraction for serviceCharge and add it to subtotal for total.
When to use this tool
Use Menu Price Service Charge Line when you need one service-capacity, timing, or charge component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter menuSubtotal, serviceChargeRateFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read serviceCharge, total. Use the output convention below.

} Limitations and assumptions
- Rate is a fraction, not percent, and can exceed one; mandatory charges, taxes, gratuities, and monetary rounding are not selected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
