Hotel Night Offset Date Gap Tool

Reconcile caller-defined hotel night and day-use counts using explicit day indices.

Description

Return calendarNights by subtraction and billed minus calendar nights minus day-use count as billingGap.

Hospitality plans use room counts, covers, service durations, portions, and stock balances. A local component applies supplied operational rules without confirming actual availability, service quality, or adequate capacity.

Return calendarNights by subtraction and billed minus calendar nights minus day-use count as billingGap.

When to use this tool

Use Hotel Night Offset Date Gap when you need one explicit hospitality planning or reconciliation component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter checkInDay, checkOutDay, billedNights, dayUseCount. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read calendarNights, billingGap. Use the output convention below.

Require checkOutDay no earlier than checkInDay and nonnegative billedNights and dayUseCount. Return calendarNights by subtraction and billed minus calendar nights minus day-use count as billingGap.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Day coordinates are numeric and dayUseCount is an additional billing comparison term; this does not parse dates, establish accommodation use, or determine what a contract permits charging.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Check the complete booking, layout, staffing, and service plan before relying on an operational estimate.
