Vintage Service Schedule Budget Planner

Plan service timing and budget from a caller-specified interval and quote; no universal vintage overhaul interval is asserted.

Description

A vintage-watch service budget uses a caller-selected interval and service quote.

A vintage-watch service budget uses a caller-selected interval and service quote. Its next-service estimate uses completed calendar years, not fractional elapsed years.1

Plan service timing and budget from a caller-specified interval and quote; no universal vintage overhaul interval is asserted.

When to use Vintage Service Schedule Budget Planner

Use this tool to plan service timing and budget from a caller-specified interval and quote; no universal vintage overhaul interval is asserted.

Choose a supported lookup focus or prepare the measured values, documented evidence and caller-selected limits requested. Use the exact field names and confirm their units or date format.

How to use Vintage Service Schedule Budget Planner and understand its results

  1. Choose a supported lookup focus or prepare the measured values, documented evidence and caller-selected limits requested. Use the exact field names and confirm their units or date format.
  2. Enter asOfDate, callerSpecifiedIntervalYears, lastServiceDate, planningHorizonYears, quotedServiceCost using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read ageDays, ageMonths, ageYears, nextServiceDue, plannedServiceBudget, servicesDueWithinHorizon, yearsUntilNextService. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
Input fieldMeaningValue type; see rules belowRequirement
asOfDateAs-of datestringRequired
callerSpecifiedIntervalYearsCaller-specified service interval (year)number; minimum: 0Required
lastServiceDateLast service datestringRequired
planningHorizonYearsPlanning horizon (year)number; minimum: 0Required
quotedServiceCostQuoted service costnumber; minimum: 0Required

Enter strict valid YYYY-MM-DD dates in order, positive interval years and nonnegative horizon/cost. Derive completed years, residual months and residual days with UTC calendar arithmetic. Return age components, due flag, years until service, count and count×quote budget. A due service counts at a zero horizon.

until=max(0,interval−completedYears); count=0 if until>horizon, otherwise 1+floor((horizon−until)/interval)

Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.

Output fieldMeaningValue type
ageDaysAge after completed years and months (d)integer; minimum: 0
ageMonthsAge months after completed years (month)integer; minimum: 0
ageYearsCompleted service-age years (year)integer; minimum: 0
nextServiceDueNext service due at as-of dateboolean
plannedServiceBudgetPlanned service budgetnumber; minimum: 0
servicesDueWithinHorizonServices due within planning horizoninteger; minimum: 0
yearsUntilNextServiceYears until next service (year)number; minimum: 0

Limitations and assumptions

No service interval is recommended or condition examined. Overdue cycles are not counted as separate backlog. Native month rollover can produce negative residual days in some month-end cases, which are rejected by the output contract.

Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Extremely large text inputs are rejected. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors. A successfully returned false flag is an evaluated outcome; its meaning is explained above.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use Service Quote to Reference Value Screen: Compare a service quote with a caller-defined reference value and explicit percentage ceiling; no universal service-cost-to-value heuristic is applied. For a complementary task, use Watch Appraisal Age Threshold Screen: Screen an appraisal's age against an explicit policy limit; no universal insurance update interval is assumed.
