Description

Multiply area by depth for countedVolumeMicroliters and divide count times dilution by that volume.

Blood-cell research counts require a defined eligible population, exclusion rule, sampled volume, and dilution basis. Their arithmetic fractions and densities are separate from validated laboratory results and clinical reference intervals.

Multiply area by depth for countedVolumeMicroliters and divide count times dilution by that volume.

When to use this tool

Use Cell Count Dilution Chamber Volume Term when you need one transparent research count or denominator component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter count, dilution, areaMm2, depthMm. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read countedVolumeMicroliters, cellsPerMicroliter. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative integer count and positive dilution, areaMm2, and depthMm. Multiply area by depth for countedVolumeMicroliters and divide count times dilution by that volume.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • One cubic millimeter equals one microliter and dilution is a multiplicative correction; cell identification, chamber calibration, counting error, and clinical interpretation are separate.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
