Sleep Diary Unknown Offset Flag Tool

Report whether supplied diary clock metadata supports comparing endpoint elapsed time.

Loading tool…

Description

Set elapsedComparable when both endpoint offsets are known or sameClockAssertion is true.

Personal health logs distinguish clock coordinates, elapsed durations, pauses, and missing time metadata. A supplied time comparison organizes records without measuring an activity or assessing its health effects.

Set elapsedComparable when both endpoint offsets are known or sameClockAssertion is true.

When to use this tool

Use Sleep Diary Unknown Offset Flag when you need one explicit diary-duration or clock-accounting component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter startOffsetKnown, endOffsetKnown, sameClockAssertion. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read elapsedComparable, missingEndpoints. Inspect elapsedComparable before interpreting the associated values.

Set elapsedComparable when both endpoint offsets are known or sameClockAssertion is true. Independently list start and end whose offset flags are false.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • A same-clock assertion can permit comparability while missingEndpoints remains nonempty; no offsets, elapsed duration, timezone, or sleep assessment are computed.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Retain dates and offset information and consult an appropriate professional for questions about health, care, or suitable activity.
