Description
Compute reportedAge-suppliedCutoff, reverse its sign when younger is eligible, and apply strict positive margin or the equalityEligible flag.
Health-policy indicators compare supplied populations, procedural clocks, rule evidence, or modeled phase-in schedules. A consistent component does not establish actual access, legal entitlement, program quality, or clinical need.
Compute reportedAge-suppliedCutoff, reverse its sign when younger is eligible, and apply strict positive margin or the equalityEligible flag.
When to use this tool
Use Eligibility Age Cutoff Margin when you need one documented policy-record or indicator component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter reportedAge, suppliedCutoff, equalityEligible, olderEligible. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read signedMargin, eligibleUnderRule. Inspect eligibleUnderRule before interpreting the associated values.

| reportedAge | Reported Age | Required. Finite number. |
| suppliedCutoff | Supplied Cutoff | Required. Finite number. |
| equalityEligible | Equality Eligible | Required. Boolean. |
| olderEligible | Older Eligible | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| signedMargin | Signed Margin | Required. Finite number. |
| eligibleUnderRule | Eligible Under Rule | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Age units and cutoff are supplied; no birth-date calculation, program eligibility rule, evidence of age, or legal entitlement is determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
