Description
Rebase amount by target/source only when both known, otherwise return zero and list missing bases.
Health-economic costs depend on resource definitions, perspective, currency, price year, and timing. An incremental or discounted model term uses supplied assumptions without proving treatment benefit or determining an adoption decision.
Rebase amount by target/source only when both known, otherwise return zero and list missing bases.
When to use this tool
Use Inflation Index Missing Base Gap when you need one transparent health-economic cost or comparison component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter amount, sourceIndex, targetIndex, sourceKnown, targetKnown. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read defined, rebasedAmount, missingBases. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.
Require positive sourceIndex and targetIndex even when knowledge flags are false. Rebase amount by target/source only when both known, otherwise return zero and list missing bases.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| amount | Amount | Required. Finite number. |
| sourceIndex | Source Index | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| targetIndex | Target Index | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| sourceKnown | Source Known | Required. Boolean. |
| targetKnown | Target Known | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| defined | Whether the associated ratio has its required denominator; inspect before using a zero placeholder. | Required. Boolean. |
| rebasedAmount | Rebased Amount | Required. Finite number. |
| missingBases | Missing Bases | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Rebased zero is a placeholder when undefined; compatible index series, currency, price-year definitions, and purchasing-power interpretation must be established externally.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

- Resource Use Price Year Gap
Subtract resourceYear from priceYear using an exact integer difference before numeric export.

Blend positive wageIndexRatio and nonwageIndexRatio with wageShare in [0, 1], then multiply signed baseCost by that weightedIndex.
