Description
Return input-accounted residual, use tolerance directly or inputMass times tolerance as its width, and subtract absolute residual for margin.
Manufacturing balances compare recorded quantities on a common material basis. Yield, potency, moisture, and disposition counts answer different questions; a consistent calculation does not by itself authorize a product or establish manufacturing compliance.
Return input-accounted residual, use tolerance directly or inputMass times tolerance as its width, and subtract absolute residual for margin.
When to use this tool
Use Yield Reconciliation Tolerance Margin when you need an explicit manufacturing quantity reconciliation or supplied-factor adjustment.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter inputMass, accountedMass, suppliedTolerance, useRelativeTolerance. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read residual, toleranceWidth, margin. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative inputMass, accountedMass, and suppliedTolerance. Return input-accounted residual, use tolerance directly or inputMass times tolerance as its width, and subtract absolute residual for margin.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Relative tolerance is a fraction and absolute tolerance uses mass units; the supplied allowance does not establish acceptable yield, complete reconciliation, product quality, or compliance.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile authenticated batch records and approved methods before interpreting the arithmetic. Product release, potency interpretation, and process suitability require the applicable quality procedures and responsible review.
