GMP Sampling Consumed Retained Count Tool

Calculate gmp sampling consumed retained count from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return the unassigned remainder, (tested+destroyed)/sampled, and retained/sampled.

Manufacturing balances compare recorded quantities on a common material basis. Yield, potency, moisture, and disposition counts answer different questions; a consistent calculation does not by itself authorize a product or establish manufacturing compliance.

Return the unassigned remainder, (tested+destroyed)/sampled, and retained/sampled.

When to use this tool

Use GMP Sampling Consumed Retained Count when you need an explicit manufacturing quantity reconciliation or supplied-factor adjustment.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter sampled, tested, retained, destroyed, returned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read unassigned, consumedShare, retainedShare. Use the output convention below.

Require positive integer sampled and nonnegative tested, retained, destroyed, and returned counts. Return the unassigned remainder, (tested+destroyed)/sampled, and retained/sampled.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Disposition totals are not capped at sampled, so negative remainder or shares above one are diagnostic; categories must be disjoint and no actual sample handling or compliance is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile authenticated batch records and approved methods before interpreting the arithmetic. Product release, potency interpretation, and process suitability require the applicable quality procedures and responsible review.
