International Flow Reexport Adjustment

Remove explicitly reported reexports from compatible gross exports without estimating domestic value added.

Description

Separate domestic exports from supplied reexports and expose a zero-gross denominator.

International records depend on source vintages, country classifications, population denominators, currency conventions and reporting periods. A code or textual crosswalk is a declared record relationship rather than proof of comparability. PPP-style factors, market exchange rates and physical-flow adjustments answer different questions.

Separate domestic exports from supplied reexports and expose a zero-gross denominator.

When to use this tool

Use International Flow Reexport Adjustment when checking the stated international record, basis, flow or allocation convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter grossExports, reexports. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read domesticExports, reexportFraction, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Require 0<=reexports<=grossExports. Domestic exports=gross-reexports; reexportFraction=reexports/gross, or zero with defined=false when gross=0.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Use compatible flow, valuation and period bases; no trade records, origin classification or economic effect is independently verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult original datasets, authoritative classifications and the intended statistical/currency methods before comparing international indicators or financial quantities.
