Description
Value in-kind goods, reduce by loss, add signed cash, and subtract transfer cost.
Cross-country monetary comparisons require an explicit currency, price basis, and population scope. Exchange rates, price indexes, and purchasing-power adjustments are different transformations and should not be substituted without stating their meaning.
Value in-kind goods, reduce by loss, add signed cash, and subtract transfer cost.
When to use this tool
Use International Aid Inkind Cash Crosswalk when you need a monetary comparison using caller-supplied conversion or price factors.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter cash, quantity, localUnitValue, transferCost, lossFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read grossInkind, deliveredInkindValue, netDeliveredValue. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative quantity, localUnitValue, and transferCost and lossFraction in [0, 1]. Value in-kind goods, reduce by loss, add signed cash, and subtract transfer cost.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| cash | Cash | Required. Finite number. |
| quantity | Quantity | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| localUnitValue | Local Unit Value | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| transferCost | Transfer Cost | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| lossFraction | Loss Fraction | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| grossInkind | Gross Inkind | Required. Finite number. |
| deliveredInkindValue | Delivered Inkind Value | Required. Finite number. |
| netDeliveredValue | Net Delivered Value | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Cash and valued goods use one currency; loss is a supplied value fraction and the result does not verify delivery, beneficiary value, aid quality, or financial entitlement.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the appropriate official dataset and its methodology for the comparison. Align price year, currency, household basis, and purchasing-power convention before aggregating or interpreting values.
